Sex as the key to understanding spirituality

December 1, 2005

This Rabbi I was listening to says that sex is the map that God left us to understand how our spiritual life is. He says you’ll get all the answers by looking at sex.

  • We all think other people are having better sex.
  • Sometimes, you do all the right things, and it just doesn’t work.
  • Sometimes you do the wrong things, but somehow, you know it was really good.
  • Sometimes, it’s all really bad, and the more you take yourself and the situation too seriously, the worse it gets.
  • Sometimes the best thing you can do is just laugh about it.
  • It’s better if you’re relaxed.
  • It’s a longing for intimacy with another.
  • Practice makes the master.

Funny huh? He was dead serious when he said this.

  1. Not funny at all. I agree with the Rabbi 100%. Back in October I posted a very similar idea up on my Blog.

I am going to post a link to here, because this Rabbi expands the idea beautifully.

Hey man! Totally cool. I remember reading your post, and then forgetting it. Now it all makes sense.

Did you know that there’s this crazy theory that states that “once anyone has thought anything, or accomplished anything that hadn’t been thought or done before in the world… now it’s accessible to everyone.”

So let’s say… you came up with that revelation of sex and spirituality. This theory says, that at that very moment, your revelation is made available for everyone else. That’s why discoveries and scientific breakthroughs happen in various places of the world at “the same time.”
